Five million years ago, during the Soul-Eating War, the Lord of the Kingdom of God and the Soul-Eating King perished together, but failed to eliminate them completely. Before his death, the Lord spread the five natal spirits under him throughout the planet Flandru, telling him that in five million years the Soul-Eating King would resurrect, and a new master would appear.
A ragged boy met a girl from the Elf Kingdom. Under the guidance of the girl, the boy became a spirit messenger. In order to gather the five original spirits, he traveled between the five countries.
Along the way, he made friends and collected spiritual bodies to help him overcome obstacles and achieve a divine body.
