Based on several years of research accumulation, this book takes the three Northeastern provinces as a whole to study the development level of the population in the region; it analyzes basic demographic characteristics such as the fertility level, population death level, population migration and mobility, population gender structure, and population age structure; it also discusses two special population phenomena in the region. One is the phenomenon of "migratory bird-style" remote care of the elderly population in the Northeast, and the other is the phenomenon that the divorce rate in the Northeast has long been the highest in the country. On this basis, the degree of coordination between the population development level and the economic development level in Northeast China is quantitatively analyzed.

The writing style of this book is very rigorous and the data is very detailed. Reminds me of the experiences of some of my friends and relatives. For example, the phenomenon of "migratory bird-style" long-distance care reminds me of my uncles and aunts. They go to the south to spend the winter every winter.
