She Watched Her Clan Be Slaughtered, Then Went on a Rampage

[Mild angst + revenge + defying fate + a touch of an ensemble cast]

At eight years old, Mu Yunying was swept into a bloody storm in which Mu Shen wagered his life, and her father died with his eyes open. She watched her mother get murdered, then was abducted and taken to a wholly inhumane assassin-training compound.

She painstakingly plotted her escape and forced herself to grow stronger, only to later hear with her own ears that her father had died a gruesome death. The Mu family fell into ruin.

Then one beloved person after another left her... betrayed her... died...

From then on, she became ruthless and cold-blooded.

She said, “I have never believed in fate. I believe only in myself.”

She said, “Every step I’ve taken on this road has been over blood.”

She said, “I’m already trapped in a swamp. Why should I fear a little mud?”

She said, “What doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger.”

She said, “It’s only death. I’ve died thousands upon thousands of times already. What is there to fear!?”

But her grandfather said:

“Xiaoying... You must be so tired after everything you’ve been through...”

“Xiaoying... From now on, live for yourself...”

“Xiaoying... If I’m gone someday and you’re left all alone, how could I ever rest easy...”

“Xiaoying...”

(Note: The heroine has no golden finger, no System, and no omniscient perspective. She doesn’t suddenly become powerful; she grows through the experience she accumulates day by day. It’s something of an ensemble story, with a small team.)
