I, He Yuzhu, Have a Son!

Han Bing is a school cafeteria chef who enjoys reading novels about old Beijing courtyards. One summer day, while the cafeteria is frying chicken legs, a sudden fire breaks out. He rushes in without hesitation to put it out, but suffers severe burns and is admitted to a burn hospital. When he wakes, he discovers he has become Silly Zhu and is living in a courtyard compound. He remembers the scenes from the novels he read and Silly Zhu’s life of being manipulated. He’s determined to escape that fate and become a scoundrel himself, so the courtyard’s beasts can see how people in the new era deal with them.
