Coquettish Style

Poetry theory works of the Five Dynasties or early Song Dynasty. 1 Volume. Written by Xu Yan. The book discusses poetry in five "doors": "Monarch and Minister", "Objects", "Exciting Topics", "Creativity", and "Contemplation". Poetry is often interpreted in terms of analogy, satire and praise, and serving the father and the king. He believes that poetry creation "is easy to express, but the reason must be risky; the sentences should avoid being vulgar, but the meaning must be thick", and opposes frivolous and superficial works that are "emotional and extravagant" and "angry". This book was first recorded in the "Secretary Province Sikuque Bibliography" of the Song Dynasty, titled "Volume of Xu Yan's Feng Sao Yao Shi". In other catalog books, "test" is replaced by "style". Both Jiaoran and Ciyuan of the Tang Dynasty had "Poetry Style", and there was also Que's name "Sao Ya Style". Based on this, "Shi" is also regarded as "Style". Volume 22 of "Zhizhai Shulu Jieti" is "Volume 1 of "Feng Sao Yao Shi", Xu Yanshu, and the author is not specified."
