The novel tells the story of the orphan Jane Eyre, whose parents died when she was young. She was fostered in her aunt's house and suffered severe abuse. She was later sent to Lowood School by her aunt. [18] The environment at Lowood Elementary School was harsh, [18] but she survived tenaciously. Two years after graduation, Jane applied for a job as a tutor to make a living. The master Rochester has a melancholic and moody personality, but after a long period of contact with him, Jane discovers that Rochester is kind-hearted, upright and resolute, and she gradually develops feelings for him. When they held their wedding in the church, Jane painfully discovered that Rochester had a crazy wife, Bertha Antoinette Mason. Jane passed away sadly. Later, her uncle John Eyre, who had been separated for many years, died of illness and bequeathed her a huge fortune. Unable to forget her love for Rochester, she returned to her hometown and found out that a few months ago the mad woman set fire to death. Rochester had one eye smashed out to save her, and the other eye became inflamed and lost sight [1]. Jane immediately went to express her true feelings to him, and the two eventually became happy. [2] Later, Rochester had an eye cured in London and gave birth to a boy with Jane Eyre.
