Cool-headed, gentle, rational heroine VS. unhinged, capricious, love-struck hero
Chi Muyu is an NPC and cannon fodder who dies from the start. Reborn one day, she makes a deal with the world System, “Momo,” driven by her determination to find her parents.
Along the way, she gathers a crew, tears into her gambling-addict uncle, takes down her scheming aunt, and sells her house and car to stockpile supplies, only to accidentally provoke a nonhuman being.
“Don’t understand love? Then let’s talk business.”
“Only interested in taking? Sorry, I’ll have to decline.”
The two dance around each other as they grow closer, pulling back and forth under forceful circumstances.
Until every problem comes to light, and Chi Muyu chooses C instead of A or B.
One midnight, Chi Muyu lies quietly in bed, her eyes bright yet as calm as still water.
Only when the mattress dips beside her does the girl faintly curve her lips. She rolls over, wraps her arms around the newcomer, and says coolly,
“What took you so long? I even got my funeral ready. Don’t you like it?”
“Chi Muyu! You’re really something!”
Gu Qin holds the girl tight, pouring out the longing he has kept bottled up.
Chi Muyu simply hugs him back just as tightly and says with a soft laugh,
“Not bad.”
Gu Qin shudders. His eyes turn instantly crimson, and the anger he has suppressed for so long vanishes,
leaving only longing and heartache.
