"Disciples' Regulations" was originally called "Xun Meng Wen", a three-character rhyme composed by Li Yuxiu of the Qing Dynasty, around the Kangxi period. It was later revised and adapted by Jia Cunren (sometimes said to be Jia Youren), and named "Disciples' Regulations". The article consists of five parts. The first chapter, "General Narration," adapts Confucius' words into three-character sentences. The main text is divided into four parts: "Be filial when you enter, and be brotherly when you go out." During the Qing Dynasty, "Disciples' Regulations" was highly valued by the imperial court, and was designated as a must-read textbook for kindergartens, and was praised as "the best reading material for enlightenment and uprightness"
