Synopsis

Mei's collection of "Water Margin", also known as "Ancient Edition of Water Margin" or "Ancient Edition of Water Margin", was first discovered by Mei Jihe, a doctor, bibliophile and novelist in Changshu, Jiangsu Province. It is considered by some researchers to be an ancient but long-buried version of "Water Margin", or even the author's original version of "Water Margin". However, this theory is also considered untrue by some researchers, who believe that this book was actually written during the Qing Dynasty or the Republic of China. Both sides have their own reasons, and the year and author of the book are still in dispute. Mei's collection of "Water Margin" has a total of 120 chapters. The first seventy chapters are basically consistent with the Guanhuatang version of "Water Margin" reviewed by Jin Shengtan, while the last fifty chapters are different from any other existing versions of "Water Margin". Unless otherwise specified, generally referred to as "Mei's Water Margin" or "Ancient Water Margin" refers to the last fifty chapters of the book.
