Legend of Pingyao

This book is a novel about gods and demons produced in the Ming Dynasty. Relying on the "Wang Zebeizhou Uprising" in the Song Dynasty, monk Shui Danzi devoutly copied the Heavenly Book "Ruyi Book" and practiced Taoism with the Holy Aunt Fox Mother and her son Zuo Fu. Aunt Housheng met Wu Zetian in a dream and learned that after her reincarnation, she married the fox girl Meier. Twenty-eight years later, she became successful in Beizhou, which triggered the Beizhou Uprising of Wang Zetian. However, after Wang Ze came to the throne, he was eventually destroyed by the court because of his debauchery and immorality. Although the stories in this book are magical and fantastic, there is indeed a real and vivid social picture running through these stories. The author shows superb artistic skills in using folklore and various miscellaneous stories to tailor them.
