This memoir is rich in content. Yan Xishan tells the historical changes in modern China from his own perspective. He had unique insights into the politics, military, and economy of the time, which gave me a deeper understanding of that era. The differences between the royalists and the revolutionary parties in the book also allowed me to see different people's thinking and exploration of the future of the country. All in all, this is a good book worth reading.
