Records of Ming Taizu

"Records of Ming Taizu" is a historical record that records the deeds of Ming Taizu and Jianwen Emperor in the Ming Dynasty of China. The year starts from the Yuan Dynasty to Zheng Xin Mao (1351) and ends in the 31st year of Hongwu (1398), forty-eight years from beginning to end. According to the records of "History of Ming Dynasty·Yiwenzhi": "Records of Taizu of Ming Dynasty" has a total of 257 volumes. Taizu's Records were revised three times: firstly in the first year of Jianwen (1399), with Dong Lun and Wang Jingzhang as presidents; secondly in the beginning of Yongle, with Li Jinglong and Rujun as supervisors and Xie Jin as president; third It was built in the ninth year of Yongle (1411). Yao Guangxiao and Xia Yuanji were appointed as supervisors, and Hu Guang, Hu Yan, Huang Zhun and Yang Rong were appointed as presidents. It was completed in May of the sixteenth year (1418). Zhu Di re-edited the True Records of Taizu twice, deleting the faults of Taizu of the Ming Dynasty and the criticism of Taizu by the officials of the Jianwen Dynasty. He also praised Zhu Di for his "Jing Nan" in an attempt to explain himself to future generations. However, repeated deletions and revisions left only 257 volumes of the forty-eight years of historical events recorded in "Taizu Records", which seemed too simplified.
