Back to High School, Running Straight to You

[Mutual devotion, warm and tender affection, sweet love.]

In this short life, I keep thinking of you.

I missed my chance with you, and the rest of my life is filled with regret.

I blame my foolishness and resent my vanity.

I hurt you, and I’m consumed with remorse, unable to face you.

In the end, we went our separate ways and left each other alone.

Do you ever think of me? I miss you so much.

I heard you got married. Your bride is three years younger than you. Are you happy?

I think you must be.

I’ve always followed your updates like a thief,

checking your social media, your video account, your Weibo.

I want to visit every place where you’ve left a trace.

Maybe I’m sick!

Every time I see an update, my heart aches with bitterness, but I can’t give it up.

Every time I don’t see one, I’m overcome with disappointment, afraid I’ll never hear news of you again.

I don’t want to disturb you. I miss you. I really do.

I don’t dare leave a trace online, afraid you might stumble across it and mock me.

All the unhappiness I’m suffering now is punishment for what I did.

If I had the chance to start over, I’d be honest about what’s in my heart.

No more vanity, no more missed chances. This time, let me love you!

I want us to choose each other.
