Yueyang Collection

(Tang Dynasty) Written by Zhang Shuo. Zhang Shuo (667-730), also known as Daoji, can be described in one word. A native of Luoyang (now part of Henan). In the first year of Wu Zetian's reign (689), in response to the imperial edict, he ordered the prince to correct the book. When the tired official arrives at Zhongshu Ling, the left and right prime ministers are appointed. He was granted the title of Duke of Yan. His posthumous title was Wenzhen. During the past 30 years, he was responsible for the great political affairs and was responsible for literature. During the past 30 years, he had many important literary works in the imperial court, and he was known as the "big writer". In the third year of Kaiyuan (715), he was demoted from the prime minister to the governor of Yuezhou. He left in the fifth year (717) and lived in Yueyang for nearly two years. During this period, he wrote a large number of poems, which he compiled into "Yueyang Collection". Most of the poems he wrote in his life were works that were based on Fenghe. After he was banished to Yue, his poems were mostly sad and sentimental. People said that he "got the help of his country". The "Yueyang Collection" compiled by him has been lost today. According to the "Qin Ding Complete Tang Poems", there are 76 poems in total, including 43 poems by Zhang Shuo, 5 poems by Zhang Shuo's son Zhang Jun, 1 poem by Zhang Bian, and 27 poems by others. Compiled into one volume.
