Taiping Royal View

"Taiping Yulan" is a famous book in the Song Dynasty. It was compiled by Li Fang, Li Mu, Xu Xuan and other scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty. It began in March of the second year of Taiping Xingguo (977) and was completed in October of the eighth year of Taiping Xingguo (983). "Taiping Yulan" was collected by groups of books, divided into fifty-five parts and five hundred and fifty categories and compiled into a thousand volumes, so it was originally called "Taiping General Category"; after the book was completed, Song Taizong read three volumes a day and read Zhou at the age of one, so it was renamed "Taiping Yulan". The whole book is organized in order of heaven, earth, people, things, and things, and is divided into fifty-five parts, which can be said to cover everything from ancient to modern times. The book cites more than a thousand ancient books and preserves a large number of documents and materials before the Song Dynasty. However, seventy-eight percent of them have been lost, which makes this book even more precious and a valuable heritage of Chinese traditional culture.
