"Xu Zi Zhi Tong Jian", 220 volumes, was written by Bi Yuan of the Qing Dynasty. The book was not even half finished. Bi Yuan only engraved 103 volumes during his lifetime. The Bi family was expropriated due to corruption, and the manuscript was lost. Feng Jiwu of Tongxiang bought the entire manuscript and engraved it into 220 volumes. There are many discrepancies between "Xu Zizhi Tongjian" and "Zi Zhi Tongjian". Xu Tongjian quotes a large number of old historical original texts, and the narrative is detailed but not messy. It only has selective tailoring, but there is no rewriting and smelting like Wen Gong's, and there is no "Bi Yuan said" and other historical treatises. Although the author of "Xuzizhi Tongjian" is named Bi Yuan, famous writers Qian Daxin, Shao Jinhan, Zhang Xuecheng, Hong Liangji, Huang Zhongze, etc. All participated in its work, and this book was actually written by everyone. Liang Qichao spoke highly of the book and believed that "if the Jian is completed, all schools that follow it can be discarded."

I especially like the description of Zhao Kuangyin in the book. His image is very vivid, making me feel like I can see his heroic appearance on the battlefield. Moreover, the language of this book is concise and clear, making it easy to read. I think it is not only suitable for people who are interested in history, but also suitable for housewives like me to read. It can increase a lot of knowledge!
