A boy born in an ordinary town gets caught up in a strange prophecy. Full of youthful spirit, he storms off in anger. In a vast world, who can he trust as a companion: the spirited girl, the white dragon riding the clouds, or the mysterious merchant? Where will he find a home: in the wealthy city-states, the kingdoms locked in conflict, or the prestigious academy? With nothing to his name, ordinary or extraordinary, he must ultimately learn what it means to gain and lose, and make his own astonishing mark on an ordinary life.
