Have you heard of Li Qingzhao, the greatest female poet in a thousand years? She was the foremost woman poet of the Great Song, hailed as the "Queen of Ci Poetry."
Her life was also a chapter in the Great Song's decline from prosperity.
Do you think she only hid in her chambers, brooding over her sorrows? In fact, she was a remarkable woman who once chased the emperor across half the Great Song all by herself!
During her lifetime, she saw the reigns of four emperors: Song Zhezong, Song Huizong, Song Qinzong, and Song Gaozong. She witnessed the fall of the Northern Song and the founding of the Southern Song.
Though she was a woman living in a patriarchal society, she carved out a place for herself through poetry!
Did you know that the great literary master Su Shi was her mentor's mentor, and that he oversaw the restoration of West Lake?
Did you know that the notorious minister Qin Hui was her brother-in-law, and that "fried Hui," the predecessor of youtiao, was fried Qin Hui, in commemoration of Yue Fei?
Did you know that the notorious minister Cai Jing was her brother-in-law, and that he personally brought down both Li Qingzhao's father and her father-in-law?
Did you know that when Song Huizong heard the Jin army was coming, he feigned illness, handed the throne to his son Song Qinzong, and fled, only to fail to get away?
Did you know that Song Qinzong handed himself and every member of the Great Song imperial family over to the Jin kingdom?
Did you know that the founding emperor of the Southern Song, Song Gaozong, was so terrified of the Jin army that he became impotent? With that, the line of Zhao Guangyi came to an end, and the throne once again passed to the line of Zhao Kuangyin.
Come and discover the tangled ties between a great poet and the Great Song, and the history you never knew.
[This novel respects history. It is not a wish-fulfillment story, but it will introduce you to a different Li Qingzhao and a different Great Song.]
This book is purely out of love. I only wrote it because I like the character Li Qingzhao. I just want everyone to know the real Li Qingzhao and the real history. Respecting history and restoring history is not a good article, and those who don't like it should not read it. It is not long, only 100,000 words. If you want to know more about Li Qingzhao and the history from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty, you can add it to your bookshelf. Thank you all for your support and love. Friends who have read it, please leave your footprints and give us a good review.
The writing was okay, and I felt like crying a few times. Unfortunately, the author seemed to like Zhao Mingcheng a little bit, and was a little too biased towards him. Some of the historical facts were not rigorous enough, but the rest were pretty good.
