The Star of Beichen

[Campus Life] [Unrequited Love] [Two Top Students] [Tragic Ending]

In middle school, Ling Yi fell for a boy. He was pure and gentle, yet always resolute. Bathed in spring sunlight, he leaned against the railing and told her that he wanted to attend Xinhai Experimental High School. Ling Yi worked hard and earned a place in its experimental class, never imagining that the boy would regretfully end up at another prestigious high school.

In high school, Ling Yi was always thinking of him, remembering the day he leaned against the corridor wall, radiant light shining down on him as if he were glowing; remembering his gentle yet resolute voice: "Me? Xinhai." In that little school, they both seemed to glow.

After starting high school, Ling Yi found herself increasingly overwhelmed, unable to face the ever-heavier workload, the scheming and rivalry among her classmates, and that thin sheet of paper listing the choice between arts and sciences...

The light faded from the girl's eyes. She quietly returned to the little middle school where she had met the boy, only to suddenly hear his voice...

"He once said, I have to stand at the front, beneath the light..."

"He is the moonlight I can never reach..."

"He is the leading man in my grand youth..."

"Even if we don't meet year after year, I still hope he stays safe and well, year after year..."

"Lu Yinchen, may you know peace and joy, and have a bright future..."
