In the 1990s, a group of Chinese people went to Japan for work. In an age when everyone envied those who went abroad, what kind of lives did these migrant workers lead as they tried to improve their families’ living standards back home? ... It was a feeling of being slowly gnawed away by boredom and helplessness... They bickered over trivial things, but also encouraged and supported one another.
