The Fall of the Demonic Path

Traditional fantasy, national destiny and political intrigue. He wields his sword for all living beings, simply because he loves her.

His name was Nuoning. The world was crumbling, and the gods had turned a blind eye. As one of the “Sinblood” line, abandoned by the Heavenly Dao, he had carried an ancient blood feud spanning eras since infancy. In an age of endless warfare, he grew up amid mountains of corpses and seas of blood, walking over the remains of his kin and his enemies alike.

As a boy, Nuoning’s eyes held nothing but longing for the world’s beauty. Only after enduring one hardship after another did he learn that his sword had to be stained with blood if he wanted to survive in this world that devoured the weak.

To find a fragment of her soul, scattered through the cycle of reincarnation, he defied Heaven in his mortal body and stood alone against a million heavenly soldiers. Yet when he finally shattered the Celestial Palace, his robes soaked in blood, and stood at the peak of his path, he discovered that the backward glance that had made him forsake all creation and fall into demonic ways was nothing but a cruel trap set by those sanctimonious gentlemen. He won the world, but lost her…

Nuoning slowly lifted his head. The eyes that had once been clear were now like a frozen pool untouched for ten thousand years, utterly still. He gently flicked a drop of blood from his blade. The faintest, coldest smile touched his lips, and his hoarse voice echoed through the valley:

“All living beings? Heh…”

“If she isn’t among them, what use do I have for all living beings? Today, I’ll kill anyone who dares stand in my way as I search for her. Even if it’s the Heavenly Dao, I’ll thrust my sword into the azure heavens and make it tremble!”
