"Uncle Tom's Cabin" is set against the backdrop of the Civil War in the 1860s. It describes a black slave named Uncle Tom who is loyal to his master. When the owner went bankrupt, he had to sell him and all other black slaves to slave traders, and eventually shipped them back to the South. After all the twists and turns, Uncle Tom still has not escaped the control of the slave traders. Once, Uncle Tom was hit and killed by a car while trying to rescue the slave girl Cassie. At the last moment of his life, he finally realized the truth that only through struggle can there be freedom.

I especially liked the part where Uncle Tom was hit by a car and died in order to save the slave girl Cathy. He was really brave. This book made me understand that freedom can only be achieved by fighting, just like I fought with my parents to go out to play! Haha, but I don't want to get hit by a car. All in all, this is a book well worth reading.
