Starting from the theory of textuality, this book explores the textual characteristics of bilingual dictionaries as works, texts and intertexts, and examines the textual characteristics of bilingual dictionaries from the three dimensions of editors, texts and users. Based on this research, it focuses on the use of English verbs in English and Chinese words. The textual representation of the definitions in the dictionary was analyzed on a case-by-case basis, using the semantic structure of the verb as the object of analysis, and using the theory of frame semantics or event semantics to analyze the interpretation patterns of the verbs in the English-Chinese dictionary. The study expanded the theoretical depth and practical understanding of bilingual dictionary research and compilation.
