This book tells the story of the protagonist Paul Korchagin, who gradually grew up from a poor boy struggling at the bottom of society to a proletarian revolutionary warrior who fought for the motherland and the people throughout his life. The young Paul once worked as a clerk and was bullied. He was imprisoned for saving his friend Zhu Helai. Later, he joined the Red Army, fought on smoke-filled battlefields, and struggled to the death line many times. After the victory of the revolution, he devoted his whole body and soul to the cause of national construction. In this process, Paul showed the noble character of perseverance, bravery and selfless dedication of a true proletarian revolutionary warrior. He gave his precious youth to the party and the people. Even though he was paralyzed, he still bravely picked up his pen to serve the people. This book reproduces the true picture of how the first-generation Communist Youth League members of the Soviet Union overcame all the difficulties and dangers in their lives and carried out arduous struggles to realize their socialist ideals. It has profound historical background and educational significance.
Reader comments
This book is very good! The protagonist Paul is really super tough and never flinches in the face of difficulties. It reminds me of the old man in "The Old Man and the Sea". They all have an admirable spirit of never giving up. The background of the times and the experiences of the characters shown in the book also made me understand the history of the Soviet Union better. I think this book is very educational. It teaches us to face the difficulties in life bravely and work hard for our ideals. Have you read "The Old Man and the Sea"? I think you'll enjoy this book too.
Very beautiful, very exciting
Why is the chapter division in this book different from the other half I read?
Is this a streamlined version? I feel like there are a lot of words missing
It can be read in just over an hour, and the content is actually very comprehensive!
I haven't read it yet, so I'll give it 5 stars.
Paul has a spirit that is missing in modern times, and his goal is as firm as steel. The expansion of the TV series has made this character richer and more vivid.
