Chinese Constitutional History

This book uses time as a line to explain in detail the development and evolution of the Chinese Constitution, and provides an in-depth analysis of the constitutional thoughts, constitutional proposals and fierce debates put forward by people from all walks of life in China. Through the comparison of Chinese and Western constitutional culture, we can grasp modern China's unique understanding of the concept of constitution, the value pursuit and basic process of the constitution, and then reveal the development pattern of China's constitutional history. From the beginning of the spread of Western learning to the East, through the Reform Movement of 1898 and preparations for the establishment of the constitution, to the founding of the Republic of China, the constitution-making activities of the Beiyang Government and the Nanjing National Government, and then to the New Democratic Movement, the constitution-making activities of the People's Republic of China have demonstrated the vicissitudes of the Chinese Constitution over the past century.
