About the author
Song Jianzhi, chief editor of this series, formerly served as deputy publisher and deputy editor-in-chief of Shanghai Classics Publishing House, publisher and editor-in-chief of Shanghai Lexicographical Publishing House, and editor-in-chief of Shanghai People’s Publishing House. He holds the rank of senior editor, Level Two. In 1996, he received a special government allowance from the State Council; in 2003, he received the Taofen Publishing Award. Books he edited, planned, or oversaw have won the National Book Award multiple times. His published works include *Dunhuang Discourse* (2002) and *Studies on Song Dynasty Finance and Historical Documents* (2007). He has published more than a hundred academic papers in journals including *Historical Research*, *Journal of Chinese Historical Studies*, *Party Literature*, *Academic Monthly*, and *Chinese Literary and Historical Review*.
I particularly like some of the characters in it, such as Qin Shihuang, who unified the six kingdoms and established the first unified dynasty in Chinese history. It is really amazing! This book is very informative and interesting to read, and it gave me a deeper understanding of Chinese history. I recommend it to friends who are interested in history, it is worth reading!
