The Complete Works of Zeng Wenzhenggong (Twelve Volumes)

Throughout his life, Zeng Guofan adhered to the traditional Chinese Confucian ideas of "righteousness, self-cultivation, orderly family, governance, and peace in the world". He can be said to be a model of being a man and an official, and was praised by the world as "the most perfect man throughout the ages." The Hunan Army established a separate discipline; he studied Western culture, purified political styles, "rectified the current maladies", and had high aspirations, which led to the emergence of "Tongzhi Zhongxing" in the late Qing Dynasty; Zeng Guofan had a smooth official career in his life. Within ten years, he jumped seven levels in a row and was promoted to the second rank at the age of 37. Zeng Guofan was the only person in the Qing Dynasty to have this honor.
