Winter Love Song

Winter Sonata is the second new installment in director Yoon Seok-ho’s seasonal series, following the Taiwanese and Korean hit Autumn in My Heart. It sparked the Korean Wave in 2002. A classic romantic melodrama, it is a tragic story steeped in melancholy, with popular idol Bae Yong-joon and devoted actress Choi Ji-woo meeting amid a vast expanse of snow to compose a heartrending love story that spans life and death. As its name suggests, Winter Sonata is a love story set in winter. The man who first made her heart race (Bae Yong-joon) dies in a traffic accident. Ten years later, a man who looks exactly like him appears before the woman (Choi Ji-woo), who is about to get married, and their love song begins anew. First love is unforgettable for everyone. Though every first love is so pure and tender, its memories still fade with the passage of time. But what if the first person who ever made your heart flutter suddenly left this world? And what if, ten years later, just as you were about to get married, someone who looked exactly like him suddenly appeared before you? Could you fall in love with him again based on his appearance alone? This drama tells the story of three young people whose fates are bound together by first love. Fate brings them together, then drives them apart… Joon-sang, Yoo-jin, Sang-hyuk, and Min-hyung, who looks exactly like Joon-sang… The web of secrets surrounding them will gradually unravel.
