My First Love Is My Senior

I want to share a true story with everyone. It’s adapted from a private online journal that was sealed away for sixteen years. Back then, I set it so only you could see it and deleted all my friends until there were just the two of us. This story happened sixteen years ago. It’s a love story between Zhao Jing, a high school student, and Huang Yalan, a university student. It was a youthful campus romance. At the time, Zhao Jing was in his final year of high school, and his senior was a beautiful university student. Not only was she kind and lovely, she was also an outstanding student. He watched her quietly from afar until one day, she became his girlfriend. Together, we went through all kinds of moments: sadness, heartbreak, happiness, and passion.

I fell in love with her the first time I saw her. It was as if the whole world had suddenly lit up. From that moment on, she had my heart completely. I started looking for every chance to talk to her, chatting about everything from schoolwork to our daily lives. She cared about me too and often helped me with my studies.

In those innocent years, our feelings for each other grew deeper and deeper. Every day we talked on voice and video calls, ate together, and even slept together. It felt as if the whole world belonged to just the two of us. I was immersed in the sweetness of love, thinking I was about to become her groom.

But good times never last. The year I started university, we chose different paths so we could better pursue our dreams. Our relationship suffered, and in the end, we lost touch. Years later, an unexpected encounter brought the past back to me and let me continue this painful chapter I’d rather forget. It’s also a memoir of my youth.
