Synopsis

The explanatory theory of Li Xiyue's Commentary on the Tao Te Ching mainly includes four aspects: "interpreting old age with old age", "interpreting old age with elixirs", "interpreting old age with Confucianism" and "interpreting old age with Yi Yi". Through the inspection of the above four aspects, it can be seen that Li Xiyue's interpretation theory of "Tao De Jing Commentary" shows three characteristics: 1. It is almost not affected by Buddhist thought; 2. The alchemy theory is consistent with the Northern School of Inner Alchemy founded by Wang Chongyang; 3. It is extremely influenced by Confucianism.
