Chuanya Internal and External Editors

"Chuanya Internal and External Compilation" is a compilation of the medical experience of Chinese folk prescription medicine (also known as Chuanyi and Lingyi). Compiled by Zhao Xuemin and supplemented by Wu Gengsheng. The author recorded the oral medical skills taught by Bai Yun, a Chinese herbal medicine practitioner, and widely shared the folk treatment experience. He also combined his rich medical knowledge and clinical experience to "cut out the confusing and complicated information, refer to the hidden secrets, and summarize it in an elegant and correct way, and finally compiled it into a book." It is compiled into 4 volumes of "Chuanya Inner Edition" and 4 volumes of "External Edition". "Chuanya Neibian" introduces the three major methods of "top, string, and cut", as well as some unilateral methods. "Chuanya Waibian" is divided into categories such as "forbidden prescriptions" (talismans and the like), "xuanyuan" (various emergency rescue methods), "outside medicine" (non-drug therapies), "products", and "outside medicine". Wu Geng, a famous doctor in the late Qing Dynasty, wrote several treatment methods and single prescriptions with notes, which are very enlightening for learning and application. Although "prescription medicine" is "not practiced by traditional Chinese medicine," some of them are proficient in various subjects and are familiar with "cheap", "experimental" and "defecation" treatment methods, and can often "suspend serious illnesses" and "save people from danger." This book reveals the mysterious inside story of prescription medicine for the first time and is an important reference work for clinicians. The treatment methods and unilateral prescriptions contained in the book must be adopted on the premise of mastering the diagnosis and treatment skills and ensuring safety. The "Inner Edition" of this book is based on the Yuyuan engraving in the 16th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1890), while the "Outer Edition" is compiled based on the lithographs of Saoye Shanfang and the Qing Dynasty manuscripts in the early Republic of China.
