It was late autumn, and even the willow trees seemed to share the season’s melancholy. A gust of west wind sent withered yellow leaves rustling down onto the path, laying out a hopeless autumn.
The voice was incredibly persuasive. Wen Qingci dared not admit that it was the voice inside her own heart, the bitterness born of the unfair treatment she had faced before. She had never taken the time to sort through those feelings, and today they had resurfaced in this ugly way, forcing her to face what was inside.
“No, that’s not true,” Wen Qingci said, trembling slightly. “How do you know all this?”
“Ah...” Wen Qingci heard a plaintive sigh, one that sounded very familiar. “Because I am you!”
Wen Qingci felt like a cassette tape with an A-side and a B-side. The B-side was the dark part of herself she never wanted anyone to see. She accepted that it existed, but that didn’t mean she agreed with it.
The A-side and B-side were both fighting over Wen Qingci, their “player,” and sometimes the tape would get “stuck.”
Every child is an independent individual, with their own thoughts and goals. They aren’t fairy godmothers sent to make up for their parents’ regrets. They are people! Each one is a living, breathing person. What gives parents the right to expect their children to accomplish things they themselves never managed? Just because they gave them life?
The subject matter is novel and it is a very interesting book. Good luck to the author!
It's so beautiful. Teacher Wen is so miserable. I wonder what will happen to her in the future. The details are vivid and touching. Especially the rhetorical questions about the meaning of supplementary classes and education. One can't help but look forward to the subsequent development.
The saddest thing in life is that people are still there but the industry is gone. There is a sense of desolation and there is nothing that can be done to stop it. Looking forward to more updates from the author!
