The General Regretted It After We Married

The young general who had been betrothed to me since childhood returned from the battlefield with a wounded woman.

For her sake, he defied his family’s wishes and broke off our engagement.

Three years later, I returned to this familiar place. This time, the young general, his eyes red, said to me, “Wan Niang, if there is a next life...”

And the woman he had fought so hard to bring back now kneels in the temple hall every day, wishing she were dead.
