This book is great! It tells the legendary life of Miyamoto Musashi and gave me a deeper understanding of Japanese history and culture. I especially like the description of Musashi's swordsmanship and inner world in the book. His famous saying "Sword Zen is the same" deeply inspired me. Yoshikawa Eiji's writing style is also very unique, making people feel as friendly as chatting with friends

The language is very fluent and the characterizations are very distinct. It tells the life of the ancient Japanese legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi in popular language. The combination of the Spring and Autumn style of writing history and the characterization of novels gives people a unique look and feel that is both true and false. The last time I read a work like this was "Le Morte d'Arthur"
