A Zither's Surprise at Spring

Guard X Princess

The blind princess lived in the cold palace, unable to see since birth. Later, her brother became emperor and brought her out, but the other princesses in the palace wouldn't play with her. So her brother assigned a guard to protect her. They grew up together, fell for each other, and decided to stay by each other's side. But the princess had been frail and sickly since childhood, and the doctor said she wouldn't live past eighteen. Later, she learned that he had always dreamed of becoming a great general who would defend his homeland. She told him she wanted to see him become a great general, then marry her. The male lead was overjoyed. It was the first time the princess had said she would marry him. So he left the palace and did everything he could to become a great general, but he never got to hear the princess speak to him again.
