Li Li transmigrates into Jinghe, a young emperor who is a woman disguised as a man. To her surprise, the Jiejing crystal merges with her soul, leaving her incapable of love or desire. Looking at a map of the Canglan Continent, Jinghe decides that her goal must be to unite the world.

Xue Yan, the consort who initially tried to assassinate her, eventually weeps and begs, “Your Majesty, please take me.” A flicker of panic crosses Jinghe's eyes.

Shen Rao, the female general and princess of Dongyue, proposes on Jinghe's birthday, “I am willing to marry Your Majesty on behalf of our house, in exchange for friendship between our two countries.”

Chu Yu, a powerful man whose status is nearly divine, smiles and says, “More than staying by your side, I want to see you win.” Jinghe, however, fails to notice the love in his eyes.

When Cheng Chuge, a young general famed far and wide for his brilliant military record, realizes that the young emperor constantly stirs his heart, he thinks he must be attracted to men and can only bury his feelings deep inside.

After meeting Jinghe at Blood Tomb Mountain, Kong Jue, emperor of Xichang, never expects his interest in her to gradually turn into love. Proud and unruly in his red robes, he disregards the world's prejudices. “I offer you the mountains and rivers of Xichang as my bride price. Let our two southwestern kingdoms unite, and become my only male consort. What do you say?”

After Zong Shaozheng, young master of the Huangfeng Bell, takes her as his master, he realizes his feelings for her may have gone beyond those of a disciple for his teacher.
