Content warning: [Secret high school crush + groveling chase + unrequited love becomes mutual...]

In high school, Lu Rao was bold, carefree, and unruly, one of the school’s most talked-about figures. His love life was no exception.

Outstanding and arrogant, Lu Rao had a rakish air and a devil-may-care face. He was always surrounded by girls, but his feelings never lasted long. Every romance was fleeting.

With his good looks and natural charm, he never lacked admirers, yet he never stayed for anyone.

Xu Yuan was an utterly ordinary girl. She had an ordinary face and an ordinary figure; the only thing she could boast about was her grades.

The only connection between them was the grades Xu Yuan had earned through relentless study. For a time, their names appeared one above the other on the rankings.

They were worlds apart, two people who could never have anything to do with each other.

No one thought they would ever cross paths, not even Xu Yuan herself.

She was ordinary and sensible; he was carefree and bold.

She never let her feelings show. Only the pages of her diary, filled with her love, bore witness to an entire season of longing.

The young girl’s secret feelings were laid bare in the diary.

And yet, these two people who should never have crossed paths suddenly found themselves entangled, without warning.

But a playboy is still a playboy. Their romance began like a joke, and ended like one, too.

“I once wished for just a little love, but in the end I finally understood that what you have to beg for will never truly belong to you.”
