This book is a supporting textbook for the national high-quality courses and is compiled in accordance with the "Basic Requirements for Theoretical Mechanics Course Teaching (Category A)" formulated by the Mechanics Basic Course Teaching Guidance Subcommittee of the Mechanics Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. The book has 7 chapters in total, which respectively explain the basic theories and methods of kinematics and dynamics. The content includes the motion of points and simple motion of rigid bodies, synthetic motion of points, plane motion of rigid bodies, virtual displacement principle, universal theorem of particle system dynamics, D'Alembert's principle, universal equations of dynamics and Lagrange's equations and appendices. It focuses on the basic content that has the most characteristics of theoretical mechanics courses, and discusses basic concepts, basic formulas and basic methods at different levels and angles.

This book is very practical! I particularly like the parts in the book about the plane motion of rigid bodies and the universal theorems of particle system dynamics. The content is explained in detail and the examples are vivid. I feel like the author is really great and can explain such complex knowledge so clearly. I think this book was also helpful for me to start my own business, and it helped me understand the practical application of many physical principles. All in all, highly recommended!
