The reason I personally highly recommend it is: I like the story rhythm and emotional advancement of this book very much. If the overt and covert struggles and hypocrisy between people are the drumbeat of tension, which makes people's hearts beat faster and can't help but hold their breath to think, then the emotions between each person and each other are the best buffer, making people unable to help but cry.
The characters in the book are also very three-dimensional. I like Gao Mian the most. He is a smart and kind-hearted child. Even though he has experienced such an unfortunate incident, when I imagine his smile, I still feel it is as bright as the moon. In the book, Ah San uses the word "naive" to describe Gao Mian. He can't help but be cute and distressed. I hope Gao Mian can find happiness in the future, or at least no longer have to live so hard.
Finally, what I think is great about the character design in the book is that most of the time people are not absolutely bad. At least that's what I think. The characters will have some breathing room. They may not all be unspeakable, but they must have their own trade-offs. I can only say that this makes me feel that it is a story that I cannot get involved in, which is very emotional.
There is no need for intensive reading but it is worth reading. It is worth the reader's time. It starts relatively calmly, but gradually becomes fascinating. There are no big ups and downs, but the emotional entry point is very good. It has a sense of group portraits (rather than group portraits). The clever content can basically cover up the fragmentation caused by scene switching, tight description and some inappropriate writing. The story is like a scroll unfolding, and it is difficult to see the whole picture until it is finished. I am looking forward to it🌷
