Elijah is dying. He has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has little time left. After deciding to spend the rest of his days with his family, he boards a plane to the Pacific Northwest to be with his sister. But along the way, the World Tree’s touch transforms Earth, infusing it with magical aether and connecting it to a greater universe through the System. More importantly to Elijah, it also causes his plane to crash, leaving him stranded on a deserted island. But he has not lost everything. Through the System, he gains a Druid prototype that might be enough to help him survive in a hostile environment full of powerful monsters and everyday threats like hunger and the elements.
Meanwhile, his sister Alyssa must survive the collapse of the civilization she knows while doing everything she can to keep her family safe.
