(A Mysterious Lotus Casebook fanfic) Also known as The Goddess Is Once Again Defying Fate for Li Lianhua!
Gu Qingyun is the most exalted deity in the divine realm, but after a great battle, she is invaded by a heart demon, loses herself, and falls to the mortal world. By chance, Li Xiangyi finds her and brings her back to the Sigu Sect.
The goddess knows then that the young man is destined to die young.
At first, she pays it no mind, but she is moved by the faith and determination in Li Xiangyi's eyes.
The young man cares for the whole world and swears to bring peace and justice back to the martial world.
To help Li Xiangyi achieve his dream, and to find her own true self again, she conceals her identity as a goddess, disguises herself as a young Daoist, and becomes the Sigu Sect's Right Protector.
Before the Battle of the East Sea, the Divine Lord orders her to return to the divine realm and treat her heart demon.
She uses a return to her mountain sect as an excuse to bid farewell to Li Xiangyi and the others of the Sigu Sect, but in the divine realm, she sees that Li Xiangyi's life is nearly at an end.
She has devoted her life to the world, and Li Xiangyi is both brother and friend to her. But this time, she wants to be selfish and let him live.
This time, she defies the laws of heaven and forcibly descends to the mortal world. She collapses outside a building shaped like a carriage and a mountain, adorned with auspicious lotus patterns, and is taken in by the famous physician Li Lianhua.
At last, the gods show favor to Li Xiangyi, now known as Li Lianhua, the master of the Lotus Tower.
“Since my fall into demonic corruption as a goddess is inevitable, I will wield my heart demon as a blade, sever the shackles of the Heavenly Dao, and sacrifice my divine soul, using all my accumulated merit to defy fate and change his destiny.”
This is the last thing she can do.
She will use one scheme to break another, trade her life for his, and exchange the perfect merit she has earned in this life for a long and healthy life for Li Lianhua.
She rids the world of the Demon God, and in return, the world grants her a place to live alongside Li Lianhua.
For her, this is a very good bargain.
