The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms: The Rise of Heroes

In 907 AD, the Tang dynasty fell, plunging the Central Plains into the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, an age of endless warfare. It was a turbulent era of bloody battles, when valiant generals and brilliant rulers rose one after another. Warlords carved up the land and fought for supremacy, while heroes emerged amid the chaos of clashing blades. Beginning with Li Keyong, the story traces his legendary life, marked by extraordinary military talent and an indomitable fighting spirit. At the Battle of Jinyang, enemy forces surged in from every direction, but he fought courageously and ultimately founded Later Tang, ushering in an empire's glory. Meanwhile, Shi Jingtang rose in the south, ambitious and bent on seizing the throne. He founded Later Jin, but his excessive greed stirred resentment and resistance among the aristocracy, ultimately bringing about his own downfall. In the north, Li Cunxu was both clever and courageous. He defeated the Khitans and, through strategy and military skill, founded Later Tang and unified the north.
