Ma Yankai graduated with excellent grades from the Jiangzhou Police Academy and was hired by the Jiangzhou Police Department shortly afterward. His life had not always gone exactly as he wished, but things had generally gone smoothly. By chance, he met Chen Lijun, who had just graduated. The two ran into each other again by coincidence while working on a case. After they got together, Ma Yankai sensed an inexplicable distance in Chen Lijun. Yet her occasional cold and detached manner always stirred his desire to protect her.
Then the church bells began to carry the scent of death, and flowers withered in the white winter. As usual, Ma Yankai opened a video app on his phone at lunchtime to check the day’s news. The moment he saw the report about a murder at a church, his brow furrowed sharply. What the hell was wrong with that killer? Too scared to go after a man, but bold enough to kill someone in a church?
“The victim’s identity has been confirmed. She was a woman named Chen Lijun. Police are continuing their investigation...”
Ma Yankai stared at the name on the screen in disbelief.
It's really good to read. It's another treasure novel. The plot is compact and the novel is unfolded from the perspective of the two male protagonists. I highly recommend it!
I haven't read much yet, but I think it's a very gentle book.
