Ji Xia was once a divine deer living in the woods. Guided by the Heavenly Dao, he and Xiao Ling descended to the mortal realm to gather the fragments of the barrier separating the mortal and divine realms, known as Cloudstone Shards.
By chance, Xiao Ling reunited with an old friend, Jiang Du. The god Fu Hanrong, who governed the mortal world's order, was also drawn into the affair. But it seemed there was some inexplicable connection between Ji Xia and Fu Hanrong...
--
Fu Hanrong held his palm out, fingers curled slightly. Ji Xia felt something near his neck crack, and the magical power within him began to surge. His body could not withstand such a tremendous force, and it overwhelmed his consciousness. At the moment he blacked out, Ji Xia thought he saw a shaft of exceptionally warm sunlight, with countless petals drifting down like a heavy shower of flowers. Before him stood a cool, distant figure. For some reason, looking at him, Ji Xia suddenly felt that it was too cold. Even the sunlight could not soften the chill surrounding him.

"He never... cared whether I lived or died." The youth wanted to cry, but no tears would come. So many emotions welled up inside him that he could not even feel sad. The smile tugging at his lips looked more painful than crying.
Xiao Ling had no answer. He watched him in silence. Those involved could not see clearly, while onlookers could, but he could not say anything. Fu Hanrong always did things that left people baffled.
