I'm Just a Foot Soldier, and You Want Me to Save the World?

Zhao Mingyang, a special forces soldier, falls off a cliff in an accident and transmigrates into a game System. He finds himself in the war-torn, internally divided and externally threatened Wu Dynasty. The System charges him with saving all the people under Heaven and sends him to complete one seemingly impossible mission after another.

In the real world, Zhao Mingyang lies in a hospital bed in a vegetative state. His girlfriend, Cheng Qingqing, stays by his side and cares for him devotedly, but his colleague Chen Xiaoming relentlessly pursues her, resorting to any means necessary to win her over.

Under pressure from her parents, Cheng Qingqing reluctantly agrees that if Zhao Mingyang still hasn’t woken up in two years, she will do as they wish and marry Chen Xiaoming.

Though trapped in the System, Zhao Mingyang can still see the people and events in the real world. He is frantic as he watches Chen Xiaoming deceive his girlfriend, but he is powerless to help. All he can do is give each mission everything he has in exchange for in-game rewards, hoping that once he completes them all, he can return to the real world for good.
