On Intangible Cultural Heritage: The Heritage Collection

The nine-volume series “Humanities of Ganyu” is rich in substance and comprehensive in detail. It covers a thousand years of changing fortunes, as well as the reflections and poetry of literati through the ages; the legendary story of Xu Fu’s voyage east, as well as a rich and colorful traditional culture; distinctive dialects and folklore passed down through the ages; and accounts of the footprints of famous figures, past and present, alongside dedicated studies of the region’s natural riches. In short, the series is both a contemporary distillation and portrait of Ganyu’s history and culture, and a vivid account of the changes, development, and struggles that have shaped Ganyu over thousands of years.
