This book is the "Russian and Eastern European Volume" of "The Process of World Modernization" edited by Professor Qian Chengdan. It is also the last volume in this series. The previous 9 volumes have been published: General Volume, East Asia Volume, South Asia Volume, Middle East Volume, North America Volume, Latin America Volume, Western Europe Volume, Africa Volume, and Oceania Volume. Based on rich and reliable literature, the author has carefully sorted out the modernization process of Russia, the Soviet Union, and Eastern Europe (including Poland and the Czech Republic). This book believes that the socialist practice of the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries is another path to modernization, opening up a new model for the development of human civilization, thus proving the scientific nature of Marxist theory and practice.
Reader comments
This book is rich in information, sorting out the modernization process of Russia, the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, giving me a more comprehensive understanding of their history. The author's unique point of view made me realize the diversity of socialist practice. This reminds me of the book "History of the Soviet Union", both of which provide an in-depth study of the history of the Soviet Union. I think this type of book is very helpful for our understanding of world history and different development models.
