Wu Qichang (1904-1944), a famous literary historian. The selected chapters in this book focus on his academic research results in Neo-Confucianism and Oracle Bone Inscriptions, as well as his representative works in astronomy, geography, phonology, current political commentary and other fields. About the author
Wu Qichang (1904-1944), courtesy name Zixin, was born in Haining, Zhejiang. In 1925, he was admitted to the Tsinghua Academy of Chinese Studies and was among the first students of the Tsinghua Academy of Chinese Studies. He mainly studied under Liang Qichao and Wang Guowei, and his research fields include oracle bone inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, and academic history of the Song Dynasty.

I especially like his rigorous attitude towards academics, just like a teacher I met before, who was strict but respectful. However, I kind of hate those complicated oracle bones and bronze inscriptions, they look so laborious! But this also makes me admire Mr. Wu Qichang's erudition even more. Overall, this book not only allows people to increase their knowledge, but also allows them to feel the academic spirit of the older generation of scholars.
