The play tells the legendary story of Huo Yuanjia, a martial arts master in the late Qing Dynasty, who used the spirit of Chinese martial arts to resist foreign forces and defend national dignity in the face of national crises, both internal and external. After the failure of the Reform Movement of 1898, the "Six Gentlemen" died for the country.
