[Unhinged emperor, black lotus VS. disguised courtier, the one he yearns for]

Xie Mingyuan transmigrated twice: once to return from the dead, and once to go home.

“Back then, I never made a deal at a loss. This time, I went and paid for it with my life.”

The young courtier, who had never known the ways of the world, drank too much of the wine of mortal life. Drunk, he gave up his body and lost his heart.

The other man took advantage of him while he was drunk, stole his heart and destroyed his country, yet spent ten whole years after his death searching for immortals to bring his soul back.

“Xie Mingyuan, I had a dream.”

“In my silent, dark world, I dreamed of a joy amid the chaos of war.”

Wei Xuanchuan carefully cupped the faintly glowing remnant of a soul against his chest. Moonlight shattered and slipped from the corners of his reddened eyes. At last, his restrained, surging tenderness and longing faded away with the mortal world.

Everyone said that the Southern Xuan courtier and the Northern Lin emperor were born enemies.

One was born the son of a god, a genius fit to assist a king; the other was branded a calamity from birth, scorned and rejected by all.

Only Wei Xuanchuan knew:

The courtier, whose radiant virtue had vanished from the world, was the man he revered as a god in his heart.

“It's not that I don't want to hold on to you.”

“I'm just even more afraid of hurting you...”

[Early: a sharp-tongued careerist X a scheming, caring sweetheart; Middle: a proud cultivator X an unhinged love-struck fool; Late: mutual pursuit, with both of them suffering for love]

[Light and sweet, a little angst, mutual devotion, happy ending, small team]
